Tidewater Tavern has a smooth and chill vibe. It's not the kind of place where you'll be dancing on tables, but it's no dive bar, either. A good mix of laid-back decor and casual comfort.

Large, open windows create a welcoming mood at the Tidewater Tavern. Although perfect for precursor happy hour before hitting up a show at the Belly Up or dinner at Pizza Port, Tidewater Tavern itself is not a solid spot for food. Tidewater is a coastal beach bar at the core and attracts a healthy mix of surfers and neighborhood families for casual drinking and dining in a fun, energetic atmosphere.

We only hit up tidewater because Pizza Port was a little too busy so we thought we'd mix it up. Bad idea. I had been here once before and don't recall loving or hating it. I guess it's just…

Pretty good. I don't have anything negative to say about this place. Decent beers on tap, good crowd, food looks ok (I didn't eat anything -- just the liquid diet for me). Server was nice (and…

this is my favorite place to get a drink in north county. it is super laid back and you can usually get on a pool table without too much of a wait. the crowd here is pretty mixed with all types of…

A friend brought me here last weekend to watch the USC game and to grab some food. Totally great spot with a killer indoor/outdoor esque patio and a must be at spot on hot days. This is San Diego, so…

Good food, fun people, fair prices, plenty of pool tables and all around just a fun place. Closes at 12 so look out for that. Head down to the Surf and Saddle after :)

It's hard to categorize this joint. It could be a sports bar, a pool hall, a burger joint, a beach bar and a dive bar depending on the time of day, your frame of mind and whether you're on your…

Go to happy hour early enough, Tidewater (or any other place for that matter) is your oyster. Order drinks. Drink. Repeat. Drink prices were rather standard. Balancing the need to be healthy, I had…

Hit up Tidewater Tavern with Meg R. I always heard good things but tended to always hit up Surf and Saddle, endearingly called "Slurp and Straddle" by locals. The same kind of crowds hang out at…

Damn good. This is being added to my list of favorite local watering holes. It's cheap, I was paying $3.75 (well whiskey sour), to $4.50 (Malibu bay breeze) a drink and they also had nummy food. I…
