Since its debut in 1954, the Surf & Saddle has been a favorite watering hole for Solana Beach locals and visitors to the coastal corridor.
If you enjoy pool, sports, music, dancing and a casual setting, this could be your hangout. Surf and Saddle is a kaleidoscope of fun. Starting the day at 6 a.m. here could be completely without angst, especially if you opt for a Bloody Mary to welcome the morning instead of coffee. If your day starts a bit later, try this casual spot for an afternoon libation or perhaps put it on your list for happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. In the evenings, there's Open Mic on Wednesdays from 9 p.m. to closing, and Free Pool on Thursdays from 8 to 11 p.m., live music on Fridays and Saturdays (and Sundays during summer months) featuring some of the best bands around. Between live music, a mixed crowd enjoys one of the best jukeboxes around.

Dec 11, 2008 Went there on a Tuesday night just around 9 pm. This is, typically, a pretty slow time for bars. Not at this place however.
While there were very few patrons before nine, this game me a chance to…

Dec 11, 2008 I had so much fun here! It's a dive bar, for sure, it reminds me of the "saloon" in old town if you've ever been there. But the crowd here is so much better. Lot's of younger kids, (and older too),…

Dec 9, 2008 Cool little dive bar in Solana Beach...it's almost enough just to say that because there aren't too many places like this in North County Coastal area of San Diego. It's a great place for a cheap beer…

Dec 3, 2008 This place kicks ass. $3 something wells, and $3 something beers? Can it get any better than that?
We came here to drink before a show at Belly Up. Got a few rounds. Saw Foo U play a few hits. Good…

Nov 11, 2008 I really dig this place, but I can totally see why someone over the age of 30/35 would hate it.
For the uninitiated, Del Mar and Solana Beach is one giant meat market after the sun goes down. It's…

Just a great atmosphere.
Last time I was here the Bartender was freestyle rapping as the DJ spun beats. Good times. ;)

Aug 26, 2008 The wife and I swung by here on the outset of our 5th anniversary, and looking back, I wish we hadn't. It was intended to be a silly little inside joke, about the "liquid courage" stop I made here a…

Aug 21, 2008 While everyone talks about the coolness that is the Tuesday night Gold Fish Races, only locals and true Saddle patrons know of the amazing-ness that is Rock Band on Thursday!
Bloody Mary's on Sunday…

Jul 16, 2008 This place is only fun to go to on Tuesdays, as quoted below. The goldfish races are a lot of fun, especially during the Del Mar race season. Its a pretty small dive spot, but what are you gunna do…
